초록
The aim was to study the effects of different oxygen content and supplementation of vitamin C & E during underwater exercise on blood reactive oxygen species and antioxidant capacity. For that purpose six male divers performed an immersion at a depth of 5m and a pedaling of stationary bike for 20 min. Blood was drown from ante cubital vein at resting, during breathing compressed gas (oxygen concentration, 21%, 40%, 60%), immediately after exercise, and 30min after that. Free radical and total antioxidant capacity of blood were analyzed. Free radical and total antioxidant capacity rose after exercise all conditions. But there was no significant difference between conditions. Acute intake of vitamin C & E enhanced total antioxidant capacity, but it could not change free radical. We concluded that supplement of vitamin C & E during underwater exercise might be beneficial for the protection from oxidative stress.
