초록

A new black seed coat soybean cultivar with green cotyledon, Cheongja 2 was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute (YARI) in 2003. Cheongja 2 was selected from a cross Milyang 70 / Ilpeumgeumjeongkong. The preliminary, advanced and regional yield trials for evaluation and selection of this line (Milyang 121) were carried out from 2000 to 2003. It has a determinate growth habit, purple flower, brown pubescence, dark brown pod color, black seed coat, green cotyledon, spherical seed shape, ovoid leaf shape and medium-large seed size(26.0 grams per 100seeds), and it was 2 days later in maturity than the check variety Cheongja. In the seed quality such a total oiligo-saccharide content, anthocyanin extraction degree and texture of steamed soybean, Cheongja 2 was better than check variety, and it has good adaptability for cooking with rice. It also has been identified to have resistance to soybean mosaic virus necrotic symptom (SMV-N) which is a the troublesome soybean disease. The average yield of Cheongja 2 was 2.07 ton per hectare in the regional yield trials (RYT) carried out for two years from 2002 to 2003 which was 9 percent higher than the check variety Cheongja
