The Factors of Cultural Industry Competitiveness -The Comparative Study of China, Korea, Japan, and United States-

With the development of the economic globalization and exchanges between different cultures, cultural industry and international cultural trade have been developing with an accelerated speed, also play an important role in international trade. Based on the analysis of international cultural trade, this paper created the indices of an estimate model based on Diamond Model to measure the international competitiveness of Cultural Industries applying Grey System Theory. Data were from 2000 to 2008, covered 13 indices of four factors from Porter’s Diamond Model. Research indicated that the developing countries have possessed substantial potential of expanding their cultural trade, though developed countries are still dominating the global cultural market at present. Up to now, international cultural trade has obtained a rapid expansion in Korea and Japan. But China still in a lowest level in these countries. At last, the paper figured out the important and potential sectors of cultural industry.
