초록

Enterococcus faecium is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-positivebacterium found in the gut and fermented foods, with somestrains exhibiting probiotic potential by modulating the microbiotaand producing beneficial metabolites. This study analyzedthe genomic sequences of four E. faecium strains isolated fromCheonggukjang. The genome sizes of JB00005, JB00012,JB00023, and JB00034 were 2,612,572 bp (GC content: 38.47%),3,034,373 bp (GC content: 38.36%), 2,960,038 bp (GCcontent: 38.30%), and 2,736,348 bp (GC content: 38.23%),respectively. Four antibiotic resistance genes and a Bac32-related bacteriocin gene were identified. The PBP5 amino acidsequence exhibited both the sensitive (S) genotype and acombined (S/R) genotype.
