Biomechanics Evaluation for Ergonomic Design of Truck Outside Handle

트럭 아웃사이드 핸들의 인간공학적 설계를 위한 생체역학적 평가

초록

The outside handle of a truck is one of the most important factors that determine its satisfaction as a device operated by a driver when boarding. This study aims at biomechanically analyzing and evaluating the body load according to the type and height of the outside handle of the truck door. Eighteen subjects participated in the experiment to collect joint angles of the arm and joint moments of the leg while operating three handle types of horizontal lever, horizontal grip, and vertical grip at nine handle heights from 1,000mm to 1,800mm with an interval of 100mm. The horizontal lever handle was more comfortable than the other two handles and the handle heights of 1,300mm and 1,400mm were more comfortable than the other handle heights in terms of joint angle and moment. The result of this study is expected to be used as an ergonomic design guideline for truck door handles.
