초록
This study analyzed the usage patterns and error types of Sino-Korean negative prefixes “불/부(不)-, 비(非)-, 무(無)-, 미(未)-, 몰(沒)-” produced by intermediate and advanced Vietnamese learners of Korean, and to identify the underlying causes of these errors. The analysis revealed that the learners’ average error rate was 40.8%, and that there were statistically significant differences in error rates depending on the type of prefix. Among the five prefixes, 몰- showed the highest error rate, followed by 무-, 미-, 불/부-, and 비-. This indicates that errors in the use of negative prefixes are not random, but vary systematically according to the semantic characteristics and combinatory constraints of each prefix. The major causes of errors were identified as follows: the lack of systematic instruction on negative prefixes, differences in the conceptualization of negation due to first language transfer, and the structural complexity of the Korean negative prefix system. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes the necessity of vocabulary instruction that enables learners to develop an integrated understanding of the meaning, form, and usage of Sino-Korean negative prefixes.
