초록

This study developed a new self-assessment tool for Korean elderly drivers by selecting the essential items from extant self-report assessments for elderly drivers. Through an online search, the self-report assessment items for elderly drivers were collected, and 44 essential items were selected by the opinions of 33 elderly and driving experts. And data on a total of 339 elderly drivers were collected, and a Rasch analysis was performed. During this process, the final items were selected, excluding the nonconforming subjects, and the fitness of the model was analyzed. As a result, 31 subjects were found to be nonconforming, and 6 items were found to be nonconforming, and a total of 38 items were selected. These items and elderly drivers were arranged in order of difficulty and ability based on the logit values. The difficult item was arranged in order from logit values of-2.43 to 1.84. Subject ability was arranged in order from logit values of-2.44 to 2.44. As a result of a rating scale analysis, a 3-point scale was established. The sub-areas of “On-road”, “Coping”, and “Health” were determined by a factor analysis. In this study, a new self-report assessment for Korean elderly drivers was developed. This may provide qualitative information for the elderly in the first stage of driving retraining. © Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2020.
