초록
In this work, peony seed cake extract (PSCE) was utilized to synthesize silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) for antibacterial, antioxidant, and cytotoxicity applications. Characterization of the PSCE-Ag NPs showed that they had a spherical form, with an average size of 105.6 & PLUSMN; 3.49 nm and a zeta potential of -41.8 & PLUSMN; 12.6 mV. PSCE-Ag NPs significantly inhbited the growth and biofilm formation of Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella enterica. Further, PSCE-Ag NPs demonstrated potent 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS+) free radical scavenging ability. Additionally, PSCE-Ag NPs had no toxic effects on erythrocytes, egg-chorioallantoic membrane, and human embryonic kidney cells (HEK293) while drastically reducing the growth of breast cancer cells (BT474).
