초록
The objective of the present work is to investigate the effect of additing ZnO on the development of low water absorption ceramics using mine residues. Physical properties of ceramics were investigated as functions of ZnO content and sintering temperature. The results indicated the fact that proper amount of ZnO sintering temperature could produce ceramics with suitable physical properties. The bulk density as high as 2.685 ~ 2.753 g/㎤ and water absorption as low as 1 ~ 5% were achieved for ceramic containing 10 ~ 20wt.% of ZnO content and sintered at 1050. When the ZnO content was 40wt.%, water absorption rapidly increased.
