Nano TiO2 particles coated on fly ash were synthesized by the precipitation dropping method under various hydrolysis conditions in order to develop the low-price photocatalyst. The photocatalytic properties of TiO2 coated on fly ash have been investigated. About 10 rim. anatase TiO2 particles and homogeneous precipitated layer were produced on the surface of fly ash under the conditions; pH 6 of the solution, 1.0 ml/min of the addition rate of NH4HCO3 and 1000 rpm of the stirring speed. The crystallinity of anatase was increased with raising heating temperature and anatase was changed to rutile by heating at 800 degreesC. The photocatalytic decomposition of acetic acid was affected by both the morphology and the crystallinity of precipitated TiO2 particles.
