초록

This study compared the difference in the nectar volume (μL/flower), free sugar content (μg/μL) and nectar sugar content per flower (mg/flower) between the capillary tube and centrifuge method, which are most suitable for evaluating the value of honey plants among various nectar collecting methods. A method of repeatedly collecting nectar using a capillary tube and a method of collecting accumulated nectar using a centrifuge method were compared in Hovenia dulcis, Tetradium daniellii, and Zanthoxylum ailanthoides. As a results, there was a statistically significant difference in the nectar volume and free sugar content, but there was no difference in nectar sugar content per flower (T-test, p =0.05). In other words, as the free sugar content dose increased when the nectar volume decreased, the nectar sugar content per flower was maintained constant as a complementary characteristic (negative correlation). This result means that the nectar sugar content per flower should be considered the main factor in evaluating the value of the honey plants because the nectar volume is variable depending on environmental factors. In addition, it is judged that nectar collection by centrifuge is possible for honey plants that cannot collect nectar using capillary tube due to the narrow corolla structure.
