A New Vegetable Soybean Cultivar, "Dajin" with Early Maturity, Large Seed Size of Light Green, High Yield and Good Seed Quality

초록

A new vegetable soybean cultivar, Dajin (Milyang 125) was selected from a cross Keunolkong / Josaengbaekjo(Introduction) // Keunolkong, and was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute (YARI) in 2003 on the basis of its yield performance and seed quality for vegetable soybean. Dajin has a determinate growth habit, short stem height, white flower, gray pubescence, light green seed coat color, spherical seed shape, and ovoid leaf shape. Also, it shows resistance to lodging and soybean mosaic virus (SMV). Seed weight of Dajin is about 78.6 gram per 100 green seeds. When Dajin was planted on late April, harvesting date for it with green pod is early August. It's fresh pod has dark green color, and it has a good vegetable soybean seed quality. Futhermore, it has 87% of commercial pods ratio of vegetable soybean and 6 % higher than check variety. The average fresh pod yield of Danjin was 10.82 ton per hectare which was 9 percent higher than that of check variety Hwaeumputkong in regional yield trial carried out at three locations from 2001 to 2003.
