Comparative analysis of hydrogen charging station gas leak accident causes using the AcciMap technique

초록

Hydrogen energy is a promising clean energy source, but safety concerns regarding hydrogen gas incidents challenge its widespread adoption. Understanding accident causation through systematic analysis is essential for developing effective preventive strategies. This study applies AcciMap methodology to investigate a hydrogen refueling station incident and proposes a systems-based accident analysis framework. The AcciMap analysis of an actual high-pressure hydrogen refueling station incident systematically examined contributing factors across organizational levels. Compared to the official investigation report, the AcciMap model identified more extensive organizational and regulatory deficiencies, including insufficient maintenance protocols. The analysis identified 20 contributing factors with corresponding safety recommendations. The findings demonstrate that AcciMap methodology enables comprehensive, multi-layered accident causation analysis. This research suggests that systems-based analysis tools can significantly enhance safety management in hydrogen infrastructure development and operation.
