수변구역의 수질조절 및 탄소저감 서비스 변화 평가 연구 - 한강수계를 대상으로 -

초록

Riparian zones deliver critical ecosystem services such as water quality improvement and carbon sequestration, while enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem connectivity. However, inadequate management can transform these zones into sources of pollution, emphasizing the necessity for effective management strategies rooted in ecosystem service assessments. This study examined land use and ecosystem service changes in the Hangang River riparian zones following their designation, identifying significant development pressures that continue to degrade these essential services. The study also proposed the development of ecosystem service maps to visualize these changes, helping raise awareness among stakeholders and residents about the importance of riparian zone management. By analyzing spatial and temporal changes in ecosystem services within riparian zones, this study offers a robust foundation for formulating policies to enhance key ecosystem services, such as water quality improvement and carbon sequestration. Furthermore, it provides practical insights for achieving sustainable management and long-term conservation of riparian zones.
