Historical Definition of Left-wing Literature and its Imagination

Left-wing literature has been changed in conformity with the needs of times. These days lots of researchers take note of its diversity and abundance, not of conformity and simplicity. This article will inquire into two types of imagination which were implied by reinterpretation on left-wing literature. One of this imagination is to discover values of left-wing literature in building of alterative modernity and put emphasis on peculiarity. They argued that Chinese left-wing literature including the Revolutionary Literature criticized the May-Fourth era literature as bourgeois literature trying to establish western modernity in China and drastically severed from these old-fashioned tendency to establish the alternative modernity which could cure the poison of western modernity. So these view can secure the political validation of mainstream in China today. And the other is to resurrect original values of left-wing literature like resistance against the power, social criticism and interest in disadvantaged which were lost by the ideologization of left-wing literature. Especially, these views are likely to pay attention to the disadvantaged like low-paid workers and migrant workers who suffer from the unequal social structure at present, so these are more timely and more realistic.
