Superconductivity in new oxyanion superconductors: TlSr4Cu2Oz(SO4)1-x(CrO4)x

TlSr(4)Cu(2)Oz(SO4)(1-x)(CrO4)(x) (x = 0 - 1.0) polycrystalline samples were prepared by using a solid state reaction technique to investigate the effect of Cr substitution for S on the phase formation and the superconducting properties of the recently isolated superconducting compound TlSr(4)Cu(2)Oz(SO4). X-ray powder diffraction measurements showed that almost-single phase samples with tetragonal (P4/mmm) structure were obtained in a range of 0 <= x <= 1.0. The magnetic transition temperatures were 74 K, 73K, and 76 K for the x = 0, 0.5, and 1.0 samples, respectively. The observed superconductivity was of bulk nature. (c) 2018 Author(s).
