A Comparative Kinematical Analysis of Shoulder Joint in Gait between Physical Education Majors and Non-Major College Students

체육전공대학생과 비전공대학생의 보행시 어깨관절운동의 운동학적 분석

초록

The purpose of this study is to compute and compare the angular movement of the shoulder during the normal gait of the students doing measure in physical education and students doing measure in other subjects when walking at the preferred speed. Twenty young, healthy male students took part in the study. Ten physical education students (age: 23.4±2.01, height: 177.9±4.89, weight: 79.6±9.43), and ten non physical education (age: 22.9±2.01, height: 177.9±4.89, weight: 79.6±9.43). No Significant differences were found in the shoulder angular movement. Our previous study in the same kinematic gait data had shown significant differences in lower limb kinematics. The result of this study suggests that single joint behaviour cannot completely account for multi joint behaviour which makes it difficult to reliably parametrise the upper limb kinematics.
