초록

Traditional foreign direct investment (FDI) theories fail to provide a theoretical framework for international entrepreneurship (IE) and internationalisation strategies (IS) of multinational enterprises from emerging markets (EM MNEs) that strive to acquire competitive advantages through dynamic international expansion. EM MNEs share certain features of IS in common: springboard, dynamic internalisation, technological catch-up, and knowledge exploration. Furthermore, innovation for creating new products and production methods led by contemporary EM MNEs was and is the outcome of their pursuit of externally oriented and knowledge-seeking, dynamic opportunity-seeking, and agile mimic IE. © © 2015 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
