The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of aerobic walking training program for the aged women on serum lipids and lipoprotein(total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL-cholesterol). The 65-70 years in aged women subjects consisted of two intensity(60-70% & 70-80% exercise intensity, each n=8). In order to measure the response of serum lipids & lipoprotein by walking program during 12 weeks(3times/week, 35min./day). After 12 weeks of training, statistical analysis of the results was analyzed by ANCOVA among groups and t-test within groups of pre & post 12 weeks training. The resulted were as follows : 1. serum lipids Serum lipids of results showed that there were significant increase in total cholesterol(p<.001), HDL-cholesterol(p<.001), triglycerides(p<.001), LDL-cholesterol(p<.001), total cholesterol : HDL-cholesterol (p<.001) among groups and T-test showed significant increase in total cholesterol(p<.001) and HDL-cholesterol(p<.001), total cholesterol : HDL-cholesterol(p<0.001), and triglycerides (p<.001), LDL-cholesterol(p<.001) within groups. These result suggest that older females can control the changeability of serum lipids by using the regular & continued aerobic walking training. Especially, the aerobic walking training program had a greater effects on treatment of 70-80% group than 60-70% group. This training can improve HDL-cholesterol.
