The small-signal gain in a waveguide free electron laser

We have studied the small-signal gain due to the dimensionless frequency dependence in a waveguide free electron laser. The properties on the gain function versus the dimensionless frequency are numerically investigated in the high-gain region. A numerical analysis with a set of coupled equations is compared to a linear analysis.
