｢룻기｣의 여성 주체성과 젠더 역할: 기호학과 코퍼스 언어학적 분석

초록

This study examines how female agency and gender roles in Ruth are constructed via integrated semiotic and corpus-based methods. Using semiotic models—Saussure's differential meaning, Greimas's actantial model and semiotic square, and Barthes's mythic connotation—the research delineates structural progression from pain to rest and foreignness to new belonging. These claims are validated using the NIV Ruth 1984 corpus via analyses of frequency, verb patterns, collocation, semantic networks, and sentiment analysis. The findings show that women’s language—centered on movement, labor, and relational negotiation—forms continuous meaning flows that actively drive narrative change, whereas male language clusters around legal and procedural functions that stabilize events. Network and sentiment analyses further demonstrate that narrative turning points emerge primarily from women’s speech and action, often aligned with references to the LORD as an implicit actant. The study concludes that female agency in Ruth is not incidental but structurally embedded, with theoretical models and empirical data mutually reinforcing the text’s gendered narrative dynamics.
