초록
The present study made a comparative analysis of kinematical variables related to the throwing motions in baseball pitching and handball step shoot. Conclusions drawn from the results are as follows. The speed at the moment of release was fast in order of shoulder joint < elbow < wrist < fingertips, showing an ideal pattern of throwing, in which the speed of the distal segments was slightly faster than the proximal segments. Intensive braking was applied to the left knee in pitching and to the right shoulder joint in step shoot probably because of the timing of the ball and the action. It was found that two factors, namely, horizontal adduction/abduction and flexion/extension work in pitching while only one factor horizontal adduction/abduction works in step shoot. As for the contribution of body segments to the ball projection speed, the movement of the forearm on the elbow joint and the movement of the upper arm on the shoulder joint appeared to make a high contribution to the speed.
