자연형태론 관점에서 본 룩셈부르크어의 특이한 문법현상

초록

Luxemburgish is an emerging language from the earlier West-Franconian dialect. Until the late 19th century it existed only as a spoken language and has been just recognized since 1984 as an official language of Luxemburg, together with German and French. As a prolonged oral language it has many unique grammatical phenomena. This paper first presents the theories of three linguists: the system-independent naturalness of W. Mayerthaler, the so-called normalcy or the system-dependent naturalness of W. U. Wurzel and the linguistic economy or the communicative-pragmatic naturalness of O. Werner. In regard to these theories I will explain the two unique grammatical phenomena in the verbal area of Luxemburgish: the changing inflection and the stem vocal unification of the strong verbs. In doing so, I have suggested that in those grammatical phenomena the token frequency has played a great role.
