A Study on the Strategic Plan for Characterization of Industrial Complexes

In contemporary society, industrial complexes are going through changes according to the transformation of industrial structures and social environment, and this is being shown in various areas including architecture, complex planning, or urban design. In particular, this study aims to grope for methods to specialize industrial complexes by using the design elements of castles and canals and suggest design plans to induce the ultimate activation of complexes. Gimpo Han River Cine Polis is an industrial complex to be formed centering around culture and creation industry, and in order to develop it as a specialized complex, this paper groped for specialization applying the concept of castles and canals. This is applicable through strategic approaches corresponding institutionally along with the environmental characteristics that complexes have, and it is expected that it will enhance utility and symbolicity and also induce the activation of complexes.
