초록

In this paper, a fully coupled probabilistic framework is developed to assess regional wind risk of the sandwich panel installed industrial buildings through convolution of the typhoon hazard and building fragility models. The framework is designed with two methodologies. First, data of the typhoon affecting Korean peninsula from 1951 to 2005 are analyzed and then six climatological characteristics of the typhoons are formulated to generate local wind speeds by using a Monte Carlo simulation method. Second,the Monte Carlo simulation technique is also implemented to develop the fragility of buildings by comparing a relation between statistics of wind loads and resistances of building claddings. The developed framework in this paper clearly shows different risk levels of the buildings in different geographical locations and terrains. The framework above can be used to evaluate new and existing building products, model the uncertainties that are inherent to the prediction of building performance, and manage the risk that is consequent to these uncertainties economically.
