Vacuum ultraviolet mass-analyzed threshold ionization spectroscopy of benzene: Vibrational analysis of C6H6+ and C6D6+ in the B̃2E2g state

One-photon MATI spectra of C<inf>6</inf>D<inf>6</inf> and C<inf>6</inf>H<inf>6</inf> converging to the ionic excited state B̃2E<inf>2g</inf> were obtained by using coherent VUV radiation obtained by four-wave sum frequency mixing in Hg. The quality of the spectra was much better than the gerade PIRI spectra for the same reported previously. Spectral patterns in the one-photon MATI were different from those in the gerade PIRI that utilized three sequential excitations by powerful lasers. By comparing with the calculated results, assignments were possible for some nondegenerate modes and degenerate modes.
