The objective of this study is to improve the low yield of membrane separation methods. To enhance permeability, a 3 mu m-thick ultra-thin membrane based on Fick's 1st law was fabricated using PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane). To overcome the problem of decreasing rigidity with decreasing membrane thickness, an AAO(anodic aluminum oxide) support structure with low fluidic resistance and vertical nanochannel was used. To compare membrane performance, membranes with thicknesses of 75 mu m and 220 mu m were fabricated, and separation performance and permeability were compared using a measurement system with an oxygen sensor and a flow meter. The results showed that the 75 mu m-thick membrane exhibited a trend of 1.4% higher separation performance and 2.5 times higher permeability than the 220 mu m-thick membrane. Furthermore, the 3 mu m-thick membrane showed an experimental confirmation of 5% higher separation performance and 50 times higher permeability than the 220 mu m-thick membrane, leading to a significant improvement in yield. These results can serve as a basis for the technological advancement of membrane separation methods and can be expected to propose a highly efficient composite membrane model in various industries such as medical, automotive, and industrial.
