초록

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for badminton enthusiasts. Method: The study participants were adult badminton enthusiasts aged 18 years or older who were members of the National Badminton Association, totaling 19 individuals (10 in the experimental group and 9 in the control group). The research instruments used for measurement included the AAQ-II, PWBS, and WHOQOL-BREF. Pre- and post-intervention quantitative assessments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the experimental group’s 8-session ACT-centered program. The collected pre-test data were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. Analyses included descriptive statistics, normality tests, a prehomogeneity test via one-way ANOVA, independent samples t-tests, and repeated measures ANOVA to examine differences between groups over time. When an interaction effect was detected, the Bonferroni method was applied for post-hoc analysis. Statistical significance was set at p <.05. Results: The ACT-based “centering” training had a positive influence on badminton enthusiasts’ psychological flexibility, certain aspects of psychological well-being, and the psychological and environmental factors of quality of life. These findings suggest that this intervention can effectively promote mental health among recreational sports participants. Conclusion: In a study focusing on badminton enthusiasts, the “centering” process of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) was found to enhance psychological flexibility, well-being, and quality of life. These findings suggest that ACT is effective in promoting the mental health of recreational sports participants. However, the study had limitations, including a limited participant group, short duration, and only partial application of ACT. Therefore, future research should involve more diverse participants, longer-term and fully integrated ACT programs, and a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses. This study highlights the potential of sports psychology to improve public mental health.
