문법교육에서 동사‧형용사 품사 구분 문제 - ‘잘생기다’류를 중심으로 -

초록

This paper aims to address the problem of distinguishing verbs and adjectives in grammar education by focusing on the category of ‘jalsaenggida’. We often perceive the grammatical concepts of ‘verb’ and ‘adjective’ as ‘relatively transparent grammatical terms’, distinguishing ‘verbs’ based on their semantic properties of ‘action’ and ‘adjectives’ based on their semantic properties of ‘state’. However, the part of speech of ‘jalsaenggida’ with ‘state’ rather than ‘action’ is ‘verb’ rather than ‘adjective’. Therefore, learners' understanding of the concept of ‘verb and adjective’ as ‘relatively transparent grammatical terms’ needs to be adjusted to focus on the concept of verb and adjective for ‘jalsaenggida’ with the recognition that the classification of verb and adjective parts of speech according to semantic characteristics cannot work absolutely. To this end, in Chapter 2, we examined how the existing classification and definition of verbs and adjectives have been carried out through papers on grammar education and the descriptive aspects of five language and media textbooks according to the 2015 revised curriculum, and based on this, in Chapter 3, we tried to find ways to improve the explanation of verbs and adjectives by adjusting the focus of the concept of ‘verbs and adjectives’, which are ‘relatively transparent terms’.
