초록

According to the opening of beef market, there are various researches on microsatellite (MS) markers, polymorphic loci and simple sequence repeats in nuclear DNA, due to increasing concern about traceability for hygiene and security of food. MS markers were used to estimate heterozygosity, gene diversities, and genetic distances. Some of the genetic parameters on the basis of MS genotyping appeared to provide a useful tool for examining the regional area and genetic variation in Hanwoo. A set of MS markers have developed by combining 11 MS markers out of Hanwoo’s 19 MS markers with sexing primer for Korean beef traceability system. Some researchers also reported that MS marker on bovine chromosome 5 shows significant differences in allelic distribution for the breeding value of cold carcass weight, longissimus muscle area, marbling score, and backfat thickness. A number of the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and additional polymorphic MS markers collected from researches on various genes will be useful genetic resources for the development of genetic markers for economic traits in Korean cattle, Hanwoo
