초록

The mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forest that is the zonal climax vegetation type in Northeast China has always been vitally important for the health of the ecosystem and the economical development of the whole country. This article discusses the land use history and cover change of the mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forest in Northeast China. Widespread changes in land use and cover change of the forest took place as early as 15th century, and had been remarkable in the 20th century. The former widely and continuously distributed forests have been cut down and cleared to several fragments on a large scale. The primary driving force of these changes was anthropogenic activities in the past history. © 2007, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
