IEEE 1451.2 Standard Applicable to Array Based Chemical Sensing System

The Family standard are recently available, it defines interface between sensor and processor, and plug and play is possible. In addition, Intelligence of sensor was possible because sensor includes transducer electronic data sheet (TEDS). In IEEE 1451.4 is suitable standard in single sensor, and IEEE 1451.2 is suitable standard in multisensors (array of sensors). In this paper, IEEE 1451 is applied to electronic tongue system. The electronic tongue system used an array of sensor is difficult and complex to apply IEEE 1451.4 provided standard for single sensor. We apply IEEE 1451.2, which provides standard for an array of sensors, to design of electronic tongue system. Throughout the presentation, we proposed communication interface method for IEEE 1451.2 and transducer electronic (TEDS) of electronic tongue system.
