초록

After presenting a brief history of the fallacies, I consider the current theories of the fallacies in the present paper. Hamblin held that the conception of 'fallacy' as an argument that seems valid but is not really so was the standard conception of fallacy in the history of fallacy studies and criticized the Standard Treatment of fallacies. This is followed by the New Treatment of fallacies including the pragma-dialectical approach of the Amsterdam School and Douglas Walton. The paper concludes that we must consider the fallacies from a new point of view because fallacies are important in teaching critical thinking.
