초록

The purpose of this study is to explain, with the example of 'Taebaek highland leisure city', that the application of Highland-tourism resources has an effect on the development of tourism industries and makes a contribution to revitalization of local economic development. It is not difficult to consider that the practical use of Taebaek highland resources has made a contribution to development of Taebaek region and to development of tourism industries in Gangwon district. I found the results such as; first, as indicated in the survey on the preference of toruism resources for Taebaek highland leisure city, I can see clear trend that moves from traditional tourism patterns to new tourism patterns. second, Taebaek highland;s tourism image positioning turns out to be a region with special history and climate, while, attractive resources are various resources such as Sunflower Festival, Cave, Coal Museum, Cheonjedan, and beautiful landscape. Thus, I conclude that overall place development strategies for highland leisure city are to strengthening the identity of highland's special interest and various festival, and to advertize Taebaek-highland city as an environmentally friendly relaxation place with superior highland-natural resources and scenery.
