The Current Status and Features of Data Related to the Kwagŏ of Joseon Dynasty in the Kyujanggak

In this paper, I researched and compiled a list of Gwageo-related materials among the books held at Seoul National University's Kyujanggak Institute of Korean Studies and revealed their characteristics. In the list of Kyujanggak books, 155 Kwagŏ-related data were classified in the Kwach'e item. However, there were many missing data here, so new data research and classification work were required. I presented error cases by checking the existing book list and bibliographical notes. In addition, through an investigation of 32,813 ancient Korean literature in Kyujanggak collections, 186 cases of 97 types of data related to Kwagŏ were identified. The materials related to the Kwagŏ̆ held in Kyujanggak are characterized by a high proportion of Kwajak and Shije. The high proportion of Kwajak is due to the high proportion of public book collections in Kyujanggak. Shije's high proportion is the influence of King Chŏngjo's will and policy, which strongly promoted the collection and preservation of data related to the Kwagŏ.
