초록

We had investigated students’ emotion about bacteria and virus and had analyzed science books for children and animations as some important factors that would be supposed to influence students’ emotion about them. For the study, we analyzed picture about bacteria and virus, which five groups of students drew: elementary, middle, high school students and two groups of university students who had majored in biology or in non-biology. Also, the checklist was designed with the poles of relevant positive and negative adjectives for measuring student's emotion about the microbes quantitatively and administered to the other four groups except for elementary school students. Most of the students have negative emotion about bacteria and virus only quantitatively but also qualitatively. To trace the factors influenced student's emotion about the two groups of microbes, seven science books for children and three animation programs having bacteria and virus as their heroes were sampled purposively and analyzed qualitatively. As a result, animation and science books for children had been described bacteria and virus as being negative living things against human. This study says that prospective national biology curriculum have to comprise more informations and cognitions about the microbes which would be posited as one of the important research subjects in future biology and human life.
