Divergent Vibration Characteristics of a Circular Cylinder
WEB OF SCIENCE
1초록
An experimental investigation was performed on the divergent vibration in the flow-induced vibration characteristics of a circular test cylinder when the control cylinder is located approximately behind the test cylinder and has half the diameter of the test cylinder. Specifically, the characteristics of flow-induced vibration of the test cylinder and the characteristics of the wake flow of the test cylinder were investigated by changing the position of the control cylinder and the velocity of the main stream. The results lead to the following conclusions: i) divergent vibrations can be divided into three patterns based on the vibration amplitude characteristics. ii) Divergent vibrations can also be divided into three patterns based on the velocity of flow-induced vibration that is generated on the test cylinder. iii) Investigation of the hysteresis phenomenon clarifies that one of the causes of the divergent vibration of the test cylinder is vibration inertia.
