초록

The purpose of this study is to develop an instrument to test science inquiry skills of middle school students with high reliability, validity, and objectivity. The instrument was developed through R&D procedure. The instrument consists of twenty six items. The items are content-free. The clear definitions and the objectives of 13 science inquiry skills has been established based on SAPA Ⅱ curriculum. In the processes of development of the inventory, checking procedure for the validity was performed three times by specialists in the field of science education and science teachers. By the results of the third check, the instrument was turned out that content validity was 98.83%, objectivity was 99.7%, and the level of vocabulary was 86.7%. Also it includes revises and supplementations through three field trials of the instrument. By the results of the third field trial, the instrument had reliability of 0.80, discrimination of 0.43 and difficulty of 53.8 %. The instrument constructed in this study will be played an important role as a standard to develop an instrument for evaluating biology related inquiry skills in future.
