Na2SO4 layers were deposited successfully on the surface of Ni-rich layered Li(NixCoyMnz)O-2 (S-NCM8) by coating with sodium dodecyl sulfate followed by calcination. The coating layers improves the conductivity and reduces the resistance significantly of S-NCM8. As a result enhanced electrochemical properties of S-NCM8 are obtained which makes them suitable for use as a cathode in lithium-ion batteries. [GRAPHICS] .
