초록
Benzoin condensation reactions of 2‐thiophenecarboxaldehydes and furfurals have been reexamined with catalysts such as potassium cyanide, cyanide‐resin, and a thiazolium salt. 2‐Thiophenecarboxaldehydes gave both thenoins and thenils while furfurals gave only furoins. Possible routes which might lead to formation of thenils were investigated. Copyright © 1992 Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry
