문화 및 경제교류를 위한 한국과 중국, 러시아 접경지 거점도시 선정에 관한 연구

초록

Historically, national borders have often been defined by natural conditions. However, from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, artificially drawn borders between nations have led to numerous issues, many of which continue to affect the world today. The Northeast Asia region, where Korea, China, and Russia meet, has undergone significant historical changes but currently enjoys a relatively stable situation. This stability is largely due to borders that were naturally formed through historical agreements and natural boundaries, which have mitigated potential conflicts. Despite the geographical proximity and economic potential of the region, ideological differences and natural geographical obstacles have hindered the three countries from fully realizing the cultural and economic benefits of their location. Cooperation between Korea, China, and Russia, based on their geographical proximity and complementary economic structures, has the potential to generate significant economic and social value across the Northeast Asian region and the Eurasian continent. Such collaboration could positively impact various fields and provide opportunities to strengthen the relationships between the three nations. This is particularly important for preparing the Korean Peninsula's identity and future in the event of reunification. Exploring ways to activate the tri-border area as a future-oriented space that connects Korea with China and Russia, despite their differing political systems, could help transform it into a place of peace and cooperation.
