TCM의 여행비용변수에 대한 논의

초록

This study discusses on the travel cost parameter of Travel Cost Method. For this reason, the study estimates the tourism and recreational value of the Taebaek provincial Park in Korea by TCM using some important proxy variables of travel cost such as physical travel distance and transportation fee including the opportunity cost. The results were derived from the analysis results. First, the study reveals that there are some differences in the values according to the proxy variables. The study results imply that one needs careful consideration in selecting the proxy variable of TC. The study also shows that opportunity cost of the travel time is very important factor considered in studying TCM. In spite of the above implications, this study has some limitations. The main problem is come from the assumptions of TCM. Another limitations are laid in the number of regions analyzed owing to the difficulties in obtaining the secondary data, and the number of the sample in the regions. For this reason, even though it is very tough, the above limitations should be overcome to bear more significant results.
