ments texture, water content, sediment color and microfaunal content. Unit 1(0∼9 cm interval) consists of olive gray-colored weakly laminated mud. This unit is characterized by abundant diatom contents with absence of ostracods. Unit 2(9∼27 cm interval) shows distinct lamination with changes of sediment color. The occurrence of the diatom considerably decrease on the base of Unit 2. By contrast, the ostracods are discovered near the base of Unit 2. Unit 3(27∼ostracods with few diatom. Despite absence of age dating data in core HS-7, its chronostratigraphic sequence frame-work is speculated with comparison of the previously published age-known core(Prokopenko et al., 2005). Using these results, ages of the three units were identified as Holocene(Unit 1), transitional zone(Unit 2) and late Pleistocene(Unit 3), respectively. The Unit 3 sediment is characterized by short-interval fluctuation of ostracod species. Cytherissa lacustris lived under relative high lake level condition, whereas Limnocythere inopinata is in cold-temperature condition. These data indicate that changes of ostracod species in Unit 3 sediment were mainly controlled by fluctuations of lake level rather than temperature changes.
