CdZnTe(CZT) is a promising material for X-ray and gamma-ray detectors. The metal contact on the detector could determine, to a large degree, the performance of the detector. We investigate the dependency of the detector performance on the metal-semiconductor contact at various temperatures. CZT resistive detectors (Pt/CZT/Pt and Au/CZT/Au structure) and a CZT Schottky detector (In/CZT/Au structure) were used in our work. The gold contact was de posited with an electroless deposition method, and the indium contact was made with an evaporation method. The I-V curve and the gamma-ray energy spectrum were measured for each detector at various detector temperatures. The detector temperature was varied from -5 degrees C to 50 degrees C. The CZT Schottky detector was seen to a more stable detector performance with changing temperatures.
