Effect of different Ski plates brand in blood lactate concentrations

The purpose of this study is to examine and verify the technical differences of the alpine ski plates through physiological comparative analysis i.e. Blood lactate concentrations during rest and when performing the runs. Double blind test was conducted with the ski plates manufactured from "F" and "S" brands. The plates were worn by subjects in the order of F1→S1→S2 and lactate levels were compared. The evaluation showed that F1 had higher change in blood lactate concentration than S2 and S1. In addition, the highest increment rate was seen in F1 than S1 and S2 at rest. Hence, both better speed and controlling skills in ski plates are seen as an indicator which could verify enough exercise intensity mobilized through anaerobic energy metabolism. © Research India Publications.
