취추바이의 ‘프로대중문예’에 관한 소고

초록

At the transition period of the nature of the Chinese revolution, Qu Qiubai connected the transition of the revolution with reflection and criticism of the existing Chinese modernization. He defined the existing modernization as westernization, and recognized the core of problems as the subject. Chinese bourgeoisie compromised with the comprador class and imperialist to marginalize other classes. He believed that the inherent problems of the existing modernization could be overcome when those excluded from bourgeoisie awakened and took a dominant position on their own. He proposed the proletariat including the working class as the subject of the revolution, and also suggested that the proletariat freed from the ideology of the bourgeoisie to awaken and arm with the ideology of the masses. He expected that the proletariat mass would be able to tell their own stories in their own langguage and their own way. However, due to the perception of the socialist revolution based on his experiences in Soviet Russian society, Qu Qiubai failed to develop an alternative in the problem of the mass subject and the content and role of the proletarian mass literature. The coloniality of Western modernity still remained in his discussion. The proletariat mass lost their spontaneity as they were interpellate as the subject and in the proletarian mass literature, they remained the targets of the propagation for socialist ideology and the mobilization for building and protecting the state. The interpellationg is conducted by the interpellator and the interpellator calling name does not correspond with the subject. The interpellator use interpellation in order to reproduce their dominance. The goal of the interpellator was to acquire political power and establish the state. The subject interpelled under these political intentions are still dependent. If we do not reflect these problems, which can be found in Qiu Qubai’s proletarian mass literature, the interpellation cannot be out of the limit of reproducing dependency. In other words, the problem of modernity, coloniality, has not been overcome. Due to this situation, Marxism in China failed to advance to an alternative modernity.
