초록

Enterococcus faecium is a Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobiclactic acid bacterium commonly found in the gastrointestinaltract of humans and animals, and in poultry, certain strains havebeen shown to promote gut health and inhibit pathogeniccolonization, contributing to enhanced performance and reducedantibiotic dependence. In this study, we characterized the draftgenomes of five E. faecium strains (JB00056, JB00057, JB00058, JB00063, and JB00066) isolated from the feces oflaying hens. Genome sizes ranged from 2,774,419 bp to3,109,694 bp, with GC contents between 38.08% and 38.62%. Four antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) were identified acrossthe strains. In addition, Bac32-like bacteriocin genes weredetected in JB00056 and JB00058, and an Enterocin P genewas identified in JB00057. Analysis of PBP5 amino acidsequences revealed both sensitive (S) and combined sensitive/resistant (S/R) genotypes among the strains.
