초록

The purpose of this study is to clarify the educational viewpoints of child in Wang Yang-ming and to suggest its educational implications. The results are summarized as follows: First, he is a creative thinker and a respectable teacher at that time, the middle period of Ming. This point is derived from the fact that his life as a Confucian scholar is the embodiment of his educational theses intending to a saint. Second, as the foundation of his educational theses, he prescribes a child as (1) a free subject, (2) a saint, (3) a learnable being, in the educational perspective. Thirdly, it is recognized that his educational ideal is the realization of a saint. it means a person who (1) realized liang-chih, (2) have mind like a clear mirror,(3) thinks that all things are the one. Fourth, it is considered that the core of his educational thought is following principles: (1) child-respect, (2) learning for self-perfection, (3) the activity of dynamic teaching and learning. Finally, his educational viewpoints of child imply that (1) a balanced view of child education is necessary, (2) child education is soft pedagogy, (3) educational utilitarianism must be denied.
