초록

Failure analysis techniques on mechanical components are useful for predicting the applied quantity of the load as well as the type of the load. X-ray fractography that examines a fatigue fractured surface using X-ray diffraction theory is one of these techniques. In this study, the fractured surfaces of 12% Cr steel for the turbine blade were analyzed using the X-ray fractography. The X-ray residual stress and the depth in a plastic zone were measured and correlated to the fracture related parameters such as the maximum quantity and the range of stress intensity factor. The maximum stress at the turbine blade was experimentally predicted by the relationship between omega(y) and K-max.
