강릉의 근대건축물에 관한 건축적 특성 조사연구

초록

The purpose of this tudy is aimed at grasping the architectu ral characteristics of modern buildings inGangneung from 1910‘s to 1970's.The results are as folows.1)The comercial buildings are mostly unsymetrical flat ype and others except comercial buildings aremostly symetrical flat ype.2)Up until the 1940's, staircases were located iner of buil ding betwen the first and the second flor,however after the 1950's, they were separately located in on e side of the building to ensure perpendicularlymore space and easier mobility than before.3)Windows were widely used in order to avoid monotonous wal elevation after 1950's.4)Striped ecorations were put o use to decorate the front e levation of building.5)Parapet which ad ecorative stripes to the top was genera ly used to hide rof.
